Mar Rodríguez Crowned Overall Runner-Up of Catalonia
Over the past weeks, the cities of Mataró and Terrassa hosted the Catalonia Artistic Gymnastics Championship for the Olympic Pathway and Base categories, where our club had a remarkable participation.
In the Olympic Pathway competition, our gymnasts showcased a high technical level and great confidence in their routines. Special congratulations go to Mar Rodríguez, who became the overall runner-up of Catalonia in the Level 10 category. Mar also earned two silver medals in the apparatus finals: one in vault and another in floor exercise, establishing herself as one of the standout gymnasts of the event.
We also want to highlight the performance of Clàudia Iglesias, who won the gold medal in vault in the Level 1 category, showing strong progress and flawless execution.
During the event, the Catalan Gymnastics Federation paid a heartfelt tribute to our gymnast Alba Petisco and to Laia Font for their recent successes at the European level. A gesture that fills us with pride and recognizes the dedication and achievements of our athletes.
At the same time, the final of the Catalan Cup for base gymnasts took place, marking the end of the season for many of them. Our athletes showed great preparation and clean, well-performed routines, earning several podium finishes:
Base 2: 🥈 Valentina Alabau, second place in floor exercise.
Base 6: 🥉 Enia Perelló, third place in vault.
Base 7: 🥇 Elena Rodríguez, first in vault, and 🥉 Ainhoa Bajaña, third in the same event.
Beyond the medals, the attitude, dedication, and effort of all our gymnasts was exemplary. Despite the challenges and emotions of the day, it was a Saturday full of positive energy, learning, and shared success.
